Yesterday I Felt Like Quitting Medium and Every Other Writing Platform
Yesterday was one of those days
Yesterday, I felt this overwhelming sense of doubt. I rarely let other people’s comments and opinions get to me but yesterday was different.
I once read a Tim Denning article where he said he doesn’t read comments, I am starting to understand why.
For me, it’s not just the comments I receive on my own articles, it’s the comments that people write on other people’s articles. Or, the whole articles that people write about a certain type of writer or the type of content people write.
I usually choose to ignore this kind of thing but yesterday and the day before, I started to question my motive for writing on platforms like Medium.
I have two full-time businesses, I homeschool my son, and I have several side hustles aside from Medium. Put it this way, I spend a lot of time working, writing, brainstorming, it’s a whole lot and I love it!
Sometimes, I think about quitting Medium, yesterday was one of those days. It’s not because my views are down or my earnings are not enough, I just don’t want to feel like I am on Facebook with the negative comments and constantly feeling like I am not writing the “correct” type of content.
